Trucks & Trailers wins dealer of the year
| DaimlerChrysler Commercial Vehicle Dealer Awards |

An all-round top performance has resulted in Trucks & Trailers winning the overall Commercial Vehicle Dealer of the Year award in New Zealand from DaimlerChrysler NZ Ltd.
The win came after Trucks & Trailers achieved or surpassed its targets for sales, service and parts for all three of the DaimlerChrysler brands (Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner and Sterling). A significant factor in winning the award was the performance of the Trucks & Trailers team with Mercedes-Benz vans, and in particular Rod MacNeill from the Palmerston North operation, who was awarded individual Light Commercial Salesperson of the Year.
The past year has been particularly successful for Trucks & Trailers, which had to purchase the building next door to its Wiri headquarters in order to house expanding operations, including the return of light commercial vehicles sales in the Auckland South region.
Ian Walker, General Manager of DaimlerChrysler Commercial Vehicles in New Zealand, said the award was well deserved as Trucks & Trailers had made excellent progress with all three of its brands and was investing heavily in the future.
“They did exceptionally well in meeting all targets and satisfying our challenging standards,” he says. “Their commitment to improving customer service has been outstanding and their new investment into expansion guarantees this need will be met going forward.”
Don Wright did not want to single out any of the 50 staff at Trucks & Trailers, saying the achievement had been a team effort, particularly with the truck operations. Whilst sales played a big part in the success of the past year it was in parts and service that real progress was being made. Customers were making their sales choice comforted by the knowledge that they have excellent support and back-up to keep their trucks and vans on the road and earning.
